Anita Briem is an Icelandic actress from Iceland . Anita Briesm is an Icelandic performer, is best known for her role as Jane Seymour (the young woman who will later be the wife to Henry VIII) in the TV show The Tudors. Also for the role of Hannah in the 2008 movie Journey to the Center of the Earth. Briem started her acting career as an actress at National Theater Iceland at 9 years old. She was a child actor in Iceland performing in radio and television plays. Briem moved from Iceland to London at 16 years old and was a part of the stage production Lenin's Love. Briem, then 19, was accepted into The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. The academy was home to her for three consecutive years. Briem earned her degree in Drama, and was awarded the John Barton Prize under the Scenic Fight category. While studying at RADA he participated in a large number of productions, such as The Cherry Garden by Anton Chekhov as well as Bernarda Alba's home written by Federico Garcia Lorca . Following graduation, Briem continued to work in the London theater, taking part in productions like Catalog of Misunderstanding directed by Mike Figgis at The National Theater Studio as well as the highly successful season of five months of the West End of Losing Louis .
