Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American musician and sitarist, is most well-known for her musical talents. She received the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and first female recipient. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations She was also the very first Indian-origin musician to perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is the hottest young star of the Indian sitar. She is the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. Born in London and grew up in New Delhi, she spent the beginning of her career moving between London as well as New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years of age. When she moved to Encinitas California in 1999, she was awarded a high-school certificate. While she's still young, Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording record. For a long time she has been performing regularly with her father. She released her debut single album Anourag in the year 1998. It was followed by the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years following. Apart from performing in all of the largest venues, she also has an extensive stage presence. Her career doesn't just involve music. She released Bapi the love of my life in the year 2002. This is a picture biographical work that is a tribute to her dad Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she was a Bharat Nathyam young dancer Dance Like a Man. Her career continues to grow and she will continue to achieve great success in the near future. Anoushka Shankar is an English born singer who travelled her early days in London, Delhi and California. She started learning to play the guitar at the age nine and was a sitar player to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the birth of her father in Delhi four years later. Anoushka performed with her father during his world tour, gained an incredible quantity of knowledge. When she was in her teens, she played in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. She was the youngest woman to win the House of Commons Shield, presented by British Parliament as recognition of her musicianship and artistry within the Asian Arts.
